Our Team

"And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed."

Acts 14:23

Rev. Allan Shearer

Minister

Allan was inducted into Dunblane Free Church on Saturday 5th October 2019, and has served as minister to us since, together with wife, Joanna.  Prior to this he was assistant minister at Glasgow City Free Church since June 2016.  Allan's preaching style is accessible to everyone, explaining complex Bible truths in a manner accessible to both young and old alike, and with a desire for all to know and live out with joy the love God has for His children.  Allan and Joanna live in Dunblane, and have a family of three children.

Mr. Innes MacLeod

Elder: Session Clerk

As Session Clerk Innes oversees the administrative needs within Dunblane Free Church as well as occasionally preaching at Sunday services and Thursday night Bible Study. He is a retired secondary school teacher and is married to Anne. As well as helping look after his own grandchildren each week, his gentle manner lends itself to supervising the ministry to the children and young people in the church.

Rev. Kenneth Cameron

Elder

Ken is a retired Free Church minister with a long history of ministry in a variety of settings including pastoring a church on Prince Edward Island, Canada, and serving as a missionary in South Africa with his late wife, Joan.  Ken continues to have a passion for sharing the gospel with people who do not yet know the saving power of Jesus.  Despite being retired for many years, Ken still preaches occasionally at Dunblane Free Church's Sunday Services and Thursday evening Bible Study.

Mr. Alasdair Lunan

Elder

Ally has belonged to Dunblane Free Church for several years.  He has served as missionary in a couple of cross-cultural settings, mainly Tanzania then Chad, with Africa Inland Mission.  Having become a follower of Jesus in his youth Ally is motivated to sharing his faith with children and young people so they too can find the freedom to enjoy life in all its fullness and not be bound by the constraints of modern culture and peer pressures.  Ally teaches in a local primary school and is married to Angela; they have two young children.

Mr. Jenson Lim

Elder

Jenson grew up amongst the Brethren in Singapore and made a profession of faith at a young age. However it was when he came to London to study in 1997 that he came to the

Reformed faith. He became a member of the Metropolitan Tabernacle and served as a Sunday School teacher. He moved with his family to the West Midlands in 2007 where he

was a serving member of Ebenezer Baptist Chapel and lay preacher. The family moved to Scotland in 2014 where Jenson took up his position as Lecturer. Jenson joined Dunblane Free Church in January 2020 and was appointed Elder in June 2022.

Mr. Gavin Millar

Deacon

Gavin is currently acting as Treasurer as well as oversees the church's  Health and Safety procedures. Gavin has a servant heart and a deep desire for the local community to know of the riches and certain assurance of faith in God. He demonstrates this through the sacrificial acts of kindness he does for those he comes into contact with on a daily basis. Gavin is married to Helen, who is on the Kirk4Kids team, and both have attended Dunblane Free Church for a number of years.

Mr. William Clarkson

Deacon

As DFC newest deacon, Billy is responsible for many aspects of the church fabric. Billy developed a strong Christian faith in his youth and since early retirement due to ill health, he has volunteered for Dementia Friendly Dunblane. This volunteering role introduced him to DFC which he subsequently joined in January 2020. Billy is married to Lesley who recently retired from her role as a District Nurse in Dunblane.

Our Vision Statement

To share the message of the Bible focused on the Lord Jesus Christ and to humbly and faithfully seek to follow His teaching.

•To pray for and support one another in love, so that Christ may be glorified in our worship of God and our serving of others.

•To develop an effective model of pastoral care for all our congregation and beyond.

•To serve the local community more fully as we seek to respond to their needs. We seek to show a practical expression of the love of God in our daily living and in the activities of the church.

•To be more supportive as a church of those who locally, nationally and internationally seek to share the good news of Jesus with others.
